Love inc of the black Hiils
2023 aNNUAL rEPORT
Luke 6:48 says “That house could not shake, because it was well built,” referencing the life built on Christ.
We want Love INC to be well built as an organization. That’s part of this report’s message. More importantly, we want to share Christ’s hope with people who are in the midst of life’s storms and show them how to build their lives well.
For Love INC, 2023 was a good year. We had a great team all pulling in the same direction. You’ll see the fruit of that in this report. We highlight new efforts like After-School, Love INC Hill City and the Hopwood Hope House remodel (pictured). You’ll also see existing ministries getting stronger like the Connection Center and Life INC. Through it all God has used his people to impact hundreds of lives in hundreds of ways.
I am so grateful for the staff, volunteers, donors, church partners, and others building Love INC to bring hope to people in a world of uncertainty.

Hometown
Dr. Bill Meirose
The Hometown branches in Sturgis and Hill City-Keystone are expanding our mission throughout the Black Hills. During 2023, the Hometown Initiative had preliminary conversations with the community of Spearfish and the possibility of starting a branch office in that community. The response was favorable, and we are planning to start the community meetings this year. Much work was done in developing processes and systems to ensure consistent delivery of services at all locations. Additionally, the Hometown Committee is working on how the main Rapid City office can best support the Branches. Looking forward to a very successful 2024!

Gap Ministries
Our Gap Ministries do an amazing job of meeting the needs of people in our community. Many needs are intangible and difficult to track. Toby came to Love INC after getting out of prison. As he worked towards a car, he found a welcoming community of believers that supported him on difficult days and led to a job that enables him to provide for his family.
2023 Stats
585 fulfilled request met 1564 needs in our community:

The Historic Hopwood
Hope House
The Love INC Sturgis offices moved into the Hopewood Hope House starting in Feb. 2023. This evoked the beginning of renovating an historic house into a ministry office and hub for the community. Several youth work teams came and helped us to remove the plaster off of some walls, the demolition of the bathroom, and many trips to the local dump with the debris. In the midst of this remodeling the ministry continued.
29 volunteers worked planning, marketing, registering and shopping with families totaling 249 hours!!
They had 14 families and 32 kids earned clothing!

After School
Shawn Hayford
For 20 years a Teen Center was run for North Middle School students. When that program ended the church approached Love INC about starting a similar ministry.
In the Spring of 2023, Love INC successfully prototyped a new North Teen Center. Based on this success, in the fall Teen Centers were launched at Bethel Church and Westminster Church serving North and West Middle Schools respectively.
Since opening the two centers, we have had over 2,500 visits by over 600 different teens. Well over 1,000 volunteer hours have gone into making this happen.
We have had over 10 salvations and 2 baptisms. Both youth groups have seen big increases of teen center youth coming to youth group.
Looking Ahead
Many opportunities
for volunteers and mentors at both sites.
